kindness and love shown to our family over the last 3 1/2 years since my dad’s
stroke, through his battle with cancer and at the time of his death. Thanks for
the many prayers, to those who brought food and those who traveled the many
miles for the visitation. It all meant so much. Times like these it is so
wonderful to have a very caring & supportive church family! We love you all!! Bret, Brenda, Brooke, Britney & Bryer Foland ELECTRICITY and
SECURITY A reminder to everyone to check doors and turn off lights when we leave
the building, especially in the evenings. In
the past we’ve had an uninvited guest who came in through insecure areas.
Before leaving the building remember the following: ¨ Walk through the building (NOT
ALONE) and turn off all lights. ¨ Double check that doors are
locked. ¨ If you come into the building
before or after regular hours and find doors unlocked
DO NOT search the building alone. Get property members Mike Kenerley or
Bill Wetzel to check out building with you Thanks! Steve Brienen, Property Chair Heartland
Theater Play: Nathan The Wise June 4, 5, 6, &
11, 12, 13 at 7:30
pm; Sundays June 7 & 14 at 2
pm This classic play recently updated is set in Jerusalem
in 1192 AD, during an uneasy truce between Muslim forces and invading Christian
Crusaders, with the Jews caught in the middle. Nathan, a wealthy, respected
Jewish merchant, and the Muslim Saladin and a young Christian Crusader find
themselves exploring what it means to relate as humans when there are serious
religious differences. Nathan must face Saladin’s question: Christianity,
Judaism, Islam ... which is the best? Nathan’s thoughtful answer is shaped by
what he has learned about the personal story of each character, providing a
parable of human connectedness. GIVING TO BLANKET Blanket Sunday will be June 21. This is a project shared by denominations
to provide warm blankets in disaster
areas all over the world. $5.00 will
buy a blanket. Envelopes will be
provided for your gifts. New Disciples
Church A new Disciples congregation is starting in Bloomington, spearheaded by

–- possibly in the fall of 2010. Lately
Dan and Amanda have been door to door in their neighborhood, inviting people to
a get-acquainted open house which they held last week (May 30). About 50-60
people attended, and some volunteered to help them organize a neighborhood
picnic later this summer. A weekly
small group in their home studies Christian faith. Blessings & Prayers
