Prayer Meditation

"I will love thee, O Lord, my strength"

Psalms 18:1

"Here is my Christian Identity: I know my past, where I came from. I came from God. I know what went wrong. I tried to play God instead of being satisfied to be a real man. I know my future. My destiny is Christ. And I know the present. I can face myself now - my problems, my hang-ups, my assets, my faults-because I have turned myself over to God"

Leighton Ford

Lord’s Prayer

"The Lord's Prayer is a floor plan of the house of God: a step-by-step description of how God meets our needs when we dwell in Him.  Everything that occurs in a healthy house is described in this prayer.  Protection, instruction, forgiveness, provision...all occur under God's roof."

--Max Lucado

As found in Matthew 6:9-15

9Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be honored.
10May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done here on earth,
just as it is in heaven.
11Give us our food for today,
12and forgive us our sins,
just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
13And don't let us yield to temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]
14"If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Footnotes:
1. Matthew 6:11 Or for tomorrow.
2. Matthew 6:13 Or from evil. Some manuscripts add For yours is the kingdom and the power and the
glory forever. Amen.

 Praying with Paul

The Apostle Paul wrote what he was praying for people in some of his letters.  Each one of us can rewrite these prayers so we can use them to pray for ourselves, other people, as well as the congregation we are involved with.

One of his prayers is found in 2 Corinthians 1:11,

11Please help us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks for the blessings we receive in answer to all these prayers.

May we pray for you?  Please email us with your prayer request.
