Our Pastors
Senior Pastor - Rev. Ellen H. G. Culpepper Pastor - Dr. Joseph A. Culpepper Pastors Joe and Ellen Culpepper both grew up in Macon, GA but met when they were in college at the University of GA in Athens. They have been married 40 years and have two children and six grandchildren. Their daughter is a ceramic artist in St. Louis, and their son is a cook in Dodge City, Kansas. He and his wife are deaf, so Ellen and Joe also communicate in sign language. Ellen and Joe graduated from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis and served churches in Indy, Kansas Cities, KS and MO, and most recently in Lincoln, NE. Ellen loves to read, especially books on theology and spirituality. Joe loves bicycling (including a week long tour each summer) and singing both choral and solos. They also enjoy their two lab/shepherd mix dogs and two cats. Ellen and Joe are excited to be here in their third year as our pastors and look forward to a long and happy ministry for Jesus Christ together with us.
Amanda Nesby ~ Administrative Assistant Amanda works in the church office as our Administrative Assistant. Amanda & her husband Jeremy have three children, Sophia (7), and Malachi (5) and Juliana (1). Amanda attends Heartland Community College in the evenings. She is working towards a social work degree in Human Services.
Marla Gaines-Starke ~ Financial Secretary Marla's husband Wolff is a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, while Marla is a member of Centennial. They are beloved members of both communities. Marla and Wolf share eight adult children from their previous marriages, fifteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In her spare time Marla loves to garden and to do handwork such as crocheting.
